I think it would be better if the website theme matched the forums theme.
Just my 2 cents

Haha.. I'm not a good theme designer.. More like a coder which is kind of sad, but I'll try out somethings when i have time.

You'll need a new logo too

Website theme will be a changed looked of website thus theme will be matched the website topic. Website theme is a most important part of web designing thus many images,logo , colour etc are used in theme. Theme will be a changed colour of some websites part like website title name changed colour, any link clicked changed colour in website.
